About Victor Sekgothe
Every Great Story Begins with a Dream. Some dreams begin with a single idea. Others begin with a single bedtime story.
Victor Sekgothe is a children’s author and illustrator from Johannesburg, South Africa. He has a passion for creating stories that spark imagination, encourage kindness, and help children discover the courage already within themselves.
His debut picture book, The Moonbeam Blanket, introduces readers to Rosie Rabbit and her wonderful friends. They embark on a quest in a dark forest at night to find Rosie Rabbit’s cozy Moonbeam Blanket. They journey through magical adventures filled with friendship, hope, and gentle life lessons.
Victor hopes every Moonbeam Storybook becomes more than just a bedtime story. His dream is for each book to become a cherished family tradition—one that children ask to hear again and again, creating memories that last long after the lights are turned off.
When he’s dreaming up new adventures, Victor enjoys exploring fresh ideas, creating colourful illustrations, and imagining new characters who will one day join the growing Moonbeam Storybooks family.
For Victor Sekgothe, the dream was to create a world where children could fall asleep feeling a little braver, a little kinder, and a little more hopeful than they did the night before.
As both the author and illustrator of The Moonbeam Blanket, Victor believes that stories have a remarkable ability to bring families together. A few quiet moments spent reading before bed can become treasured memories that children carry with them for a lifetime. That belief inspired the creation of Moonbeam Storybooks—a place where imagination shines brightly, kindness always matters, and every adventure leaves a gentle lesson tucked inside its pages.
A World Filled with Wonder
Victor loves creating characters that children feel they already know.
Rosie Rabbit reminds young readers that courage often begins with one small step.
Flick the Firefly teaches that even the smallest light can brighten someone’s path.
Oliver Owl shares wisdom with patience and kindness.
Bella Bear reminds us that gentle hearts can be the strongest of all.
Together, they invite children into magical adventures where friendship, compassion, curiosity, and imagination are always at the heart of the story.
Stories That Families Share
Victor believes the most magical part of any children’s book happens after the final page is turned. It’s the conversation between a parent and a child.
The bedtime hug. The smile before sleep. The questions. The laughter.
Those precious moments are the reason every Moonbeam Storybook is written—to create memories as meaningful as the stories themselves.
More Stories to Come
Victor Sekgothe believes every child deserves stories that encourage imagination, kindness, and courage. Through Moonbeam Storybooks, he looks forward to creating many more adventures that families can enjoy together. Each new story will introduce unforgettable characters, gentle life lessons, and magical moments that inspire children to dream, explore, and believe in themselves. His hope is that every book becomes a treasured part of a family’s bedtime routine for years to come.
Looking Toward Tomorrow
The Moonbeam Blanket is only the beginning. Victor is already imagining new adventures, new characters, and new bedtime stories that will continue growing the Moonbeam Storybooks collection for families around the world.
His hope is simple: That every child who opens a Moonbeam Storybook feels loved, inspired, and excited to discover what tomorrow’s adventure might bring.
